The District and ACE Bargaining Teams met to continue negotiations for the 2018-2019 school year.
District passed Articles 8, 9, 10,18, 23, Appendix III
Article 8: Hours of Employment – The District is seeking to increase the number of afterschool meetings per month and agreed to limit the number of sites for RSP rovers.
Article 9: Class Size – The District is interested in adding language to the contract so inclusion students in elementary schools are not counted on teacher rolls if less than 1/2 day. Article 10: Evaluation Procedures – The District responded to ACE’s counter-proposal from the last session. (See below)
Article 18: Medical Coverage for Retirees– The District is proposing language about medical coverage plans that aligns to current practice for our membership and is applicable to those hired in the future. All current certificated employees retiree medical benefits are grandfathered.
Article 23 – Special Education— The District is proposing to align language in this article to their language in Article 9 above.
Appendix III – The District countered ACE’s proposal for an increase to Extra Duty Pay and Stipends with a small increase in Extra Duty Pay.
The Association responded to Articles 10 & 12
Article 12: Transfer Policy– ACE is proposing to include RSP and SDC teachers as a part of current contract language regarding transfers and reassignments, and ACE is proposing to clarify language regarding notification of teaching assignments for the following school year.
Article 10: Evaluation Procedures – TA’d!!! Both sides reached tentative agreement on language concerning timelines of formal observations and PAR including if the unit member is absent on day of scheduled conference.
